You want to train for two jobs at once? Come to VERBUND! Every year, we train apprentices in a variety of professions. In their first year of training, you will gain practical experience at one of our training centres at the Danube power plant Ybbs-Persenbeug, in Kaprun or in Töging am Inn in Germany. From their second year of training onward, they receive their vocational training at one of our power plants or substations with additional module training at the training centre.
Please be informed that all training is provided in German, therefore fluency in German is a pre-requisite.

We offer you the unique opportunity to simultaneously learn two full professions in four years. Electrical engineering (industrial and mechanical) begins with simple circuitry with the important safety measures being conveyed right from the start – and in the fourth year of training digital and analogue instrumentation are part of the curriculum. Our mechanical engineering apprentices work on cutting-edge machinery. They program their components on the laptop and transfer the programs onto fully automatic manufacturing machines. The most diverse metalworking techniques are already carried out in the first year of training. Alongside the communication of basic know-how, the apprentices also receive the specialized knowledge required in the energy industry. This is what you'll be able to do Upon completion of your apprenticeship, you will have various opportunities: as an electrical engineer (systems and industrial engineering), you will plan, install and monitor electrical systems. As a metal engineer (mechanical engineering) you will design and build components for machines as well as entire plants. This way, you will be contributing your share to Austria's leading electricity company's production of environmentally friendly electricity. For our dual profession, we are seeking young technically minded people with good qualifications who are distinguished by their high degree of motivation and willingness to perform, their ability to be a team player as well as flexibility.
