A more diverse production mix forms the basis for secure power supply and for an efficient, sustainable energy system in the future.
It is for this reason that VERBUND is also backing renewable hydropower for the future. Wind power and reduced CO2 thermal power from natural gas add to the climate friendly generation mix.
We are primarily investing in pumped storage power plants. They supply valuable power for peak consumption periods and balance out fluctuations in wind and solar power.
