Jury appointments

Gabriele Schor, director of SAMMLUNG VERBUND, was appointed member of the jury for the Austrian Museum Award 2012.

The Federal Minister for Education, Arts and Culture awards the Austrian Museum Award every second year to an Austrian museum with ambitious content and of outstanding quality in presentation and education.
The next prize will be awarded in 2012 and is endowed with prize money of 
€ 35.000,--.

Claude Bussac, director of PHotoEspaña, invited Gabriele Schor, director of SAMMLUNG VERBUND to Madrid as a member of the jury for Descubrimientos PHE 2012.

Descubrimientos PHE, the annual PHotoEspaña portfolio review, has been running since 1998. It is aimed at professional photographers, and consists in the arrangement of appointments with 21 international curators and photography specialists. In 2012, Descubrimientos PHE received a total of 1,098 applications from photographers of 69 different nationalities.

Descubrimientos 2012 took place from June 5th to June 7th 2012 in Madrid.

The Otto Mauer Fund of the Archdiocese of Vienna has awarded the Msgr. Otto Mauer Prize since 1981. The award with a value of € 11.000,-- is awarded annually to a contemporary artist under the age of 40.

The jury generally consists of a chairperson of the Otto Mauer Fonds, and four prominent representatives from the field of contemporary art – artists, curators, museum directors, and journalists.

In 2007, members of the jury were chairman Gustav Schörghofer SJ and Dorit Margreiter, Gabriele Schor, Margherita Spiluttini and Margit Zuckriegl. The Otto Mauer Prize for Fine Art was awarded to the Austrian artist Ursula Mayer.
