Osnabrücker Hütte (German Alpine Association)
The cosy cabin for mountain climbers lies on Tauern Höhenweg directly at the edge of Hohe Tauern National Park. From the sun terrace you have a view of the glacier landscape of Hochalm mountain and of the Hochalm summit, with a height of up to 3,360 metres.
Accommodates more than 80 guests.

Opening times:
Mid June until the end of September; the winter shelter is open throughout the year.

Kölnbreinstüberl
"Kölnbreinstüberl" is just a few minutes' walk from the car park of Kölnbrein Dam. You can park your car at the guesthouse's private car park.

From a culinary perspective, you can enjoy home-grown house specialities: Malta Valley bacon, freshly caught trout, "Brettljaus'n" etc.

Select an overnight stay ranging from comfort through to a dormitory (groups of up to 25 people).

Jagersteighütte
If you walk up to the memorial along Kölnbrein dam, you will come across a hiking path that will take you to Jägersteighütte in approx. 45 minutes.

The Jägersteighütte is a snack bar that offers home-style cooking.

Gasthaus Hochbrücke
The "Hochbrücke" guesthouse lies 3 km away from the tollbooth at an altitude of 1,150 m. It offers you an ideal starting point for hikes and excursions from the tollbooth into the unspoilt countryside.

Veidlbauerhütte (self-catering chalet)
Are you interested in self-catering? The self-catering chalet "Veidlbauerhütte" is situated in a flat high forest glade approx. 10 km from Malta. It can be easily reached in 15 minutes from "Gasthaus Hochbrücke" via an approx. 400-metre-long footpath. The former alpine dairy hut is equipped for your comfort: kitchen-cum-living room with wood-burning stove, sitting area, sink, double and triple bedrooms, WC, shower and solar energy lighting, a well in front of the chalet, outdoor sitting area, barbecue area. Don’t forget to bring torches!

The chalet is available for rent from May until October. The price is dependent upon the number of people and the duration of the stay.

Gmünder Hütte
The Gmünder Hütte is situated directly on the Malta High Alpine Road and offers you the ideal starting point for tours into the surrounding mountains.

Warm meals available around the clock made from home-grown produce. Benefit from the sunny terrace and the children's playground.

For mountaineers and hikers, rooms and storage spaces are available. Members of the Austrian Alpine Club are entitled to discounted overnight stays. Bus groups are also welcome against prior notification.
