If you happen to be looking for a simple walking path, the highly popular Reisseck circular route is just right for you. In approx. one hour's time, you will be taken along the path to the "Großer Mühldorfer Stausee" (large Mühldorf reservoir), at 2,319 m. Numerous interesting informational items offer explanations regarding geography, geology and vegetation.

The "Großer Mühldorfer See" (large Mühldorf reservoir) offers you many interesting destinations for excursions. Of particular interest are the echo point and the awe-inspiring stone circle not far from the "Große Mühldorfer Staumauer" barrage wall. Riekenthörl (2,525 m) Hochkedl (2,558 m) and the "Großes Reißeck" (2,965 m) are further highly recommendable destinations.And, if you prefer to climb: Mountaineering route "Bella Vista" to the Hohe Leier summit (2,774 m) is very popular with alpinists.

The marked paths correspond to different levels of proficiency, so that you should have no trouble finding appropriate paths for your level of proficiency. For information please contact the mountain station. Due to construction work individual hiking paths may be sealed off.

At the adventure playground the environmentally friendly electricity generation from hydropower where explained in a manner suitable for children. The adventure playground is filled with natural elements like water, wood, stone and sand; whilst the children can enjoy the interaction of nature and technology close up, parents can relax and take it easy on the sun terrace next to the playground.

Depending on the annual season and the time of day, there is a vast variety of flora and fauna to be encountered in the High Tauern mountains that are no longer in existence in the European flatlands.

It is always worth stopping on the different trails to observe or listen more closely. Patience is often rewarded with some nice surprise...

Safe Walking
The walking/hiking region already counts among the high Alpine regions. For this region, it is important that you observe a few points:

• Always wear sturdy shoes.
• Always take food and - especially - enough to drink on your trips.
• Never leave the marked paths.
• Pay attention to the weather: weather conditions can change quickly in the high mountain regions.
