Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer as of this day a Member of the Managing Board

Today sees Dr. Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer take up her responsibilities in the Managing Board of the VERBUND Group. The lawyer, who has many years of experience in the e-Economy, is henceforth responsible for the sectors of grid, renewable energy, purchasing, law and management services as the fourth board member of Austria's leading electricity company.

Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer, born in Vienna in 1957, studied law at the University of Vienna. She began her career in 1984 in the Department of Trade and Industry, where she was, amongst other things, responsible for energy issues. Until 1991, she managed the cabinet of the Ministers for Economic Affairs, Graf and Schüssel.

From 1992 until the end of  2006, Ulrike Baumgartner-Gabitzer was Secretary General of the Association of Austrian Electricity Companies (VEÖ). Between 1995 and 1997, she was head of Vice-Chancellor Schüssel's cabinet. 1999 saw Dr. Baumgartner-Gabitzer being elected to the Austrian Parliament for the first time – a position from which she now retires.
