Tendering procedure Voitsberg
A-TEC emerged as best bidder from the tendering procedure initiated by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), by order of VERBUND-Austrian Thermal Power GmbH & Co KG (ATP), for the recovery of the site of the Voitsberg power plant.
In the final phase of the tendering procedure, three bidders made the short list. A-TEC, as best bidder, was awarded the contract for the overall site recovery of the Voitsberg power plant location. A-TEC's bid includes a possible restructuring of the former brown coal-fired power plant to accommodate other energy sources. The signing of the transaction agreement between ATP and A-TEC took place today, 30 July 2008. Closing is expected to take place within a few weeks.
The tendering procedure conducted by PwC revealed the highest level of professionalism and transparency of negotiations. The restructuring of the power plant for utilization of other energy sources will thus safeguard continued power plant operation – with all desired results for the labour market and the business location.
The contract parties and owner representations of both sides demonstrated their top satisfaction at the achieved solution. Both parties agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
