The practical training will take place directly in one of the four power plants- Aschach, Ottensheim-Wilhering, Abwinden-Asten or Wallsee-Mitterkirchen- as well as in one of the most modern trainee centres in Austria, in Ybbs-Persenbeug. The requirements to obtain a much coveted apprenticeship are a school-leavers certificate as well as good grades. In November 2013 and January 2014 there will be the possibility to come along for a taster day at the training centre.

VERBUND has trained over 2000 trainees since 1948. The company takes on around 40 trainees every year for different locations in Austria. Trainees are trained in surveying technology, electronics and metal working as well as in electronics and electrical engineering. At the moment, 13 girls are completing apprenticeships at the VERBUND power plants all over Austria. There are apprenticeship placements still available for 2014/2015 in the Danube power plants in Upper Austria.

The Most Modern Training Centre in Austria

The VERBUND training centre for Upper Austrian trainees is located at the Danube power plant of Ybbs-Persenbeug, one of the most modern training centres in Austria. The best educated teachers motivate the trainees- from the first day of training till the final exams. In the past, VERBUND trainees have already received many awards and have always occupied the top places in the last trainee competitions of the Chamber of Commerce.

Every year, for ten weeks of their apprenticeship, trainees successfully complete various modules in the vocational school. In the first year they receive practical training in the best-equipped VERBUND training centres of Ybbs-Persenbeug, Kaprun and Töging. Our trainees gather concrete experience in our VERBUND power plant starting in the second year already.
