Invitation to the VERBUND Energy Breakfast on 18 June 2015On 18 June at 8:30, the next "Energy Breakfast - VERBUND engages in dialogue" will be taking place on the topic of "Hydropower & Europe: What are the macroeconomic facts and which challenges are we facing?"at VERBUND, Am Hof 6a, 1010 Vienna, to which we would like to cordially invite you.
Hydropower is the biggest source of renewable energy in electricity generation in Europe and makes a significant contribution towards reaching the energy and climate policy objectives. As part of the study on the "macroeconomic value of hydropower in Europe" the economic significance of hydropower for Europe was first investigated. On behalf on 20 companies and associations from all over Europe, this study was spearheaded by the consulting company DNV GL. The results of the study will be presented for the first time in Austria at the VERBUND Energy Breakfast.
After some welcoming words by DI Wolfgang Anzengruber, CEO VERBUND, study author Christian Hewicker from DNV GL will present the results of the study in his keynote speech on the macroeconomic value of hydropower in Europe. After the keynote speech, there will be a dialogue between study author Christian Hewicker and Dr. Günther Rabensteiner, member of the VERBUND Managing Board, as well as DI Wolfgang Semper, member of the ANDRTIZ Board, and DI Wilfried Schimon, Head of the Hydropower Department at the BMLFUW.
