Renewable Energy Alliance for the Energy Future

24.08.2015Wien

Anti-trust authorities have approved the energy partnership between VERBUND, leader in the production of electricity from hydropower in Austria, and SOLAVOLTA, Austria's flagship enterprise for photovoltaic solutions.

The 50% share of Austria's leading energy company, VERBUND, in SOLAVOLTA, the largest domestic firm for photovoltaic systems, has started off with attractive offerings for a sustainable energy future.

The secret of this partnership's success lies in its holistic approach: throughout the process of acquiring their own rooftop solar power plant, customers now receive everything from one point of service – planning, transactions with funding authorities, installation, and start-up procedures. Thanks to the officially sealed partnership, customers now receive the benefit of a 500-euro bonus when they purchase a photovoltaic system. It goes without saying that these systems are examples of high-quality Austrian production. On top of that, with each photovoltaic system, VERBUND is also offering attractive, reduced rates for electricity guaranteed until 2019. Now, customers can lean back, relax, and enjoy their own solar energy power system in combination with alluring rates.

The two companies have already been working together successfully since 2012.  Through the combination of photovoltaic system plus battery storage and heat pump, even energy generated at home can be simple, efficient, and affordable to use. "As the leading provider of CO2-free offerings, we are now taking another important step toward reaching our climate goals. The new partnership is ideally suited to our corporate strategy of actively promoting the expansion and decentralisation of renewable technologies and intelligent offerings for private and commercial customers," stated VERBUND Solutions GmbH Managing Board members Martin Wagner and Wolfgang Pell, on the partnership with SOLAVOLTA.

"Photovoltaics represent the premium class of energy production, as solar energy can be transformed directly into electricity. Because of this, VERBUND is the optimal partner for our aim of further expanding our market position and of making use of our experience and know-how in the interest of the environment," emphasize Günter Krupitza and Horst Bauer, founders and managing directors of SOLAVOLTA Energie- und Umwelttechnik GmbH.

As one of Europe's largest producers of electricity from hydropower, VERBUND is a trendsetter for the generation of electricity from renewable sources. The company has already been providing photovoltaic solutions with success since 2009. The product offerings have been expanded continuously since then.

SOLAVOLTA, first founded in 2008, can already boast large market shares in the green energy sector. As a full-service supplier of photovoltaic systems, SOLAVOLTA arranges for all the steps – from consultation, planning, and funding transactions, all the way to the installation of solar power systems of all sizes in the private, commercial, and public sectors. Within only a few years, the company has developed into an important employer and tax payer in the St. Margarethen / Burgenland municipality.  Healthy, organic growth, a focus on core competences, partnership with energy companies such as VERBUND, and the operating team's strong regional roots all contribute to the enterprise's success.
