VERBUND GETEC takes over heating supply service for eight plants in Vorarlberg
VERBUND GETEC Energiecontracting GmbH will be taking over professional heat management for eight plants from the company Wirkungsgrad GmbH, headquartered in Dornbirn.
As of 1/1/2016, VERBUND GETEC, the joint venture founded in 2015 between VERBUND Solutions GmbH and GETEC Heat & Power AG, has taken over the provision of heat for eight plants of the insolvent company Wirkungsgrad GmbH, headquartered in Dornbirn, in the context of an asset deal.
The energy provider Wirkungsgrad, which engaged in plant contracting as well as energy audits and energy management, had defaulted in the middle of last year, and its facilities were for sale.
With this transaction, VERBUND GETEC has taken over eight plants and all customer heating supply contracts connected with them. In this way, the company has since the beginning of the year been supplying 24 customers in Vorarlberg with heating from biomass, solarthermics and natural gas, as well as with cooling from electricity. This includes 4 apartment complexes with around 350 apartments, 3 commercial parks and one nursing home. The plants are located in Bregenz, Altach and Dornbirn and feature a total heating output capacity of around 4,600 kW. VERBUND GETEC has taken over the professional operations management and the controlling of all plants. The on-site support has till now been carried out by a regional consulting and project management company, allowing the customers to retain their trusted points of contact.
"In taking over the eight heating supply plants, VERBUND GETEC is setting a clear example as an energy provider, especially in Western Austria," according to Reinhard Rengshausen, the executive director of VERBUND GETEC. "With this step, we want to make further industrial and commercial enterprises aware of our offerings in individualised energy supply concepts." With the technical expertise of the GETEC Group, VERBUND GETEC is a strong partner in contracting for complex energy supply services, especially in the industrial sector. "Our goal is to be a competent partner for companies and communities when it comes to the implementation of energy efficiency measures."
Integrated energy service
VERBUND GETEC Energiecontracting GmbH is taking over the development, planning and financing as well as the construction and operation of power generation plants, including for heating, cooling, steam, electricity or compressed air. The deployment of innovative technology and optimised fuel solutions ensures a sustainable reduction in costs and a relieved strain on the environment. Rengshausen: "In the contracting model, the energy supply tasks of a company are assigned to external specialists. In this way, the customer can concentrate on his core competences, on his own product and production processes. The costs are rendered predictable for the customer in the long term. But we also offer our solutions as general contractor services. With this option, the customer can depend on autonomous planning and punctual implementation through a partner with years of operational experience."
