Heinrich Schwaiger Haus

Heinrich Schwaiger Haus

The Heinrich Schwaiger Haus is on the Salzburg side of the Upper Tauern National Park at an altitude of 2,802 metres, and is exceptionally comfortable for a mountain refuge at such a high elevation. However, the hut is not suited for family stays with children.

The ascent to the hut, the surroundings and the mountain tours are too difficult and/or dangerous for children. But for youths who have had some basic Alpine experience, the mountain refuge (and maybe also the Wiesbachhorn) is quite an experience. The route to the Heinrich Schwaiger Haus is a high Alpine hike that can only be undertaken with the right equipment and appropriate physical condition.
