At today’s meeting of the Supervisory Board of VERBUND-Austrian Hydro Power AG, Ing. Mag. Michael Amerer was reappointed Chairman of the Board of Management of VERBUND-Austrian Hydro Power AG (AHP) for five further years.

After working for the holding company of the VERBUND Group for several years, Michael Amerer (41) was appointed into the AHP Board of Management at the beginning of 2001, where he has been responsible for the company’s business agenda. Thus AHP will continue under the excellent guidance of the two CEOs, Dipl.-Ing. Dr. Herbert Schröfelbauer and Mag. Michael Amerer.

AHP has around 1,050 employees and owns and operates hydroelectric power plants in seven Austrian provinces. At a turbine output of 6,009 MW the 88 AHP hydropower plants generate around 23,000 million kilowatt hours (GWh) of electric energy per year. Three power plants - Nussdorf, Leoben and Gerlos II - are under construction. AHP is by far the largest producer of environmentally friendly hydroelectric power in Austria.
