Energy Conference "energy2020"

From 12 to 14 September 2007, the VERBUND-organized conference "energy2020" will be taking place in Fuschl am See. The motto of this year's conference, scheduled to last for three days, will be: "Energy for a Changing World".

"energy2020" will be opened on 12 September 2007 at 10 a.m. by Mag. Gabi Burgstaller, Provincial Governor of Salzburg, , as well as Federal Chancellor Dr. Alfred Gusenbauer and VERBUND General Director Dr. Michael Pistauer.

High-ranking experts invited
Once again, high-ranking experts were able to be won for this year's conference. Dr. Gerhard Schröder, former German Federal Chancellor, Dr. Sinyugin, Chairman of the largest Russian electricity producer RAO Unified Energy Systems of Russia, and Dr. Wolfgang Ruttenstorfer, CEO of the OMV, will discuss the collaboration of the European Union with Russia in the energy sector. DI Selahattin Hakman, President of Turkish energy company Sabanci Energy Group, Georg Antesberger of Siemens Österreich and Dr. Günter Moraw, Pöyry Energy, will report on the liberalization process as well as projects in Turkey and Southeast Europe.

Europe's future energy policy will be elaborated on by Economic Minister Dr. Bartenstein, together with other European politicians. Environmental Minister DI Pröll will treat exciting issues relating to the future of the European and international climate policy in connection with climate experts and representatives of the UN climate protection process.

Gerald Gross from Austrian national television ORF and Dr. Franz Schellhorn, Head of the economic division of the newspaper "Presse" will be guiding through the program.
