First machines in Mellach

At a cost of 550 million Euro, the combined cycle gas turbine plant at Mellach is already acting as a strong stimulus for the regional economy. Up to 600 people will be employed on the construction site during peak periods.

In close cooperation with the neighbouring community, guest quarters are currently being sought in which the construction and assembly personnel can be accommodated close to the building site. During the first half of 2009, preparations for the summer's concreting work have been achieved through the construction site infrastructure, the excavation work and the soil compaction – see the following construction site images.
