Located directly on the lakeside of Fuschlsee Lake, the conference hotel Schloss Fuschl offers an exquisite and relaxed atmosphere for the most important energy conference in Austria.
The castle ("Schloss"), which is picturesquely situated on a peninsula directly on the lakeside of Fuschlsee Lake, was built in 1461 as a hunting lodge for the archbishops of Salzburg, who were very powerful at that time. In 1955 the castle attained fame as the film set for the legendary Sissy films with Romy Schneider and Karl-Heinz Böhm. Over the course of the years, the castle hotel has hosted numerous prominent and wealthy guests. Clark Gable, Audrey Hepburn and Yul Brunner spent time on the famous lake terrace, as did Nikita Khrushchev, Gerald Ford and Prince Charles.
As of 2006, the fully renovated hotel offers 110 rooms and suites, a styled wellness centre, a golf course, direct access to the lake for swimming, select culinary offerings, and the impressive collection of Old Masters, the so-called Fuschl Castle Collection.
