Welcome to the VERBUND-Power Slam!
The first VERBUND-Power Slam brought smart minds who are researching the energy future to the stage on 4 June. In the competition between five researchers, Michael Eßl from Graz University of Technology secured the title with his presentation “Reducing emissions at the virtual campfire”.
How does the Power Slam work?
Those who can really communicate their own research in an intelligible and succinct manner can win over the audience in the VERBUND Power Slam and score points in the voting process. Creative ideas wanted!
We do not provide an overhead projector, but unusual aids (demonstrations, extras, sound recordings, ...) we do, however, very much recommend to convey complex topics in an impressive way.
After your 6 minutes are up, everyone in the mixed audience should understand:
- what your project is about
- why this particular topic fascinates you
- which outcome you could ideally achieve
What can you win?
Those who are able to convince the audience will have the chance to showcase their idea at the energy2050 energy conference in September. VERBUND invites the winners to appear at Austria's most important energy symposium.
How can I participate?
If you think you have what it takes to present your own project, please sign up by 22.5.19 indicating your name, specialty field, and contents at info@scienceslam.at.
All interested parties will be invited to an informal information meeting with Science Slam organiser and physicist Bernhard Weingartner on 28.5.19 starting at 5 pm. We will pass out information and advice and you will have the opportunity to firm up your own presentation idea while discussing creative ideas for implementation in an interdisciplinary group.
How can I be a part of the audience?
Free admission. Advance booking required! Send an email to einladung@verbund.com
