Our most important energy generation technologies are hydropower, wind power and solar power – renewable resources that account for the lion’s share of the energy we produce and that will help us achieve our long-term goal of generating 100% carbon-free electricity.

Climate-friendly hydropower is the most important source of energy for our electricity generation. Approx. 86% of VERBUND electricity comes from hydropower. We manage our power plants efficiently and protect people and the environment. Going forward, we will continue to invest in the expansion of hydropower.

Austrian Power Grid AG (APG), VERBUND’s grid subsidiary, operates the national electricity transmission network in Austria, with approximately 3,300 kilometres of power lines that supply Austria with electrical energy.
