In the first phase of expansion, the Austrian Volkswohnungswerk (ÖVW) is providing its residents with 240 e-charging points for charging in their own garage parking spaces. This is made possible by the collaboration with experienced players in the field of electromobility, PAYUCA and VERBUND.
PAYUCA and Austria's leading energy company VERBUND are jointly offering a charging solution for the real estate industry to quickly and cost-effectively implement e-charging stations in the garages of rental properties. The lucrative offer from VERBUND and PAYUCA supports the housing industry in expanding the e-charging infrastructure.
‘A modern, digitised and electrified garage is becoming the focus of our interest due to the mobility transition, as we are having to deal with increasing enquiries regarding e-charging infrastructure,’ says Gerald Ebner, Managing Director of ÖVW, about the first stage of the charging rollout in his existing properties.
With 16 locations and 240 e-charging points, Österreichisches Volkswohnungswerk is a leader in the housing industry in Austria.
‘We offer a fast, cost-effective entry into the mobility transition. For housing companies, this means minimal investment costs and maximum convenience,’ emphasises Martin Wagner, Managing Director of VERBUND Energy4Business. "Together with our partner PAYUCA, we offer a comprehensive solution from the planning process to commissioning and maintenance. For housing companies with a large number of buildings, a structured, resource-saving approach is essential for the efficient implementation of e-charging infrastructure. Thanks to the close cooperation between PAYUCA and VERBUND, housing companies benefit from a fast and scalable solution that meets both current and future requirements," Wagner continues.
VERBUND Immo-Charging is based on a subscription model from PAYUCA for the use of charging stations, including electricity from 100% hydropower from VERBUND. The subscription can be cancelled monthly by tenants and is available from as little as £34.90, depending on kWh consumption. E-motorists with company vehicles can also bill the costs directly to their employers.
The offer promotes electric mobility in urban living spaces and offers tenants and owners considerable added value. By reducing CO2 emissions, the e-charging infrastructure makes an important contribution to environmental protection and supports companies in achieving their ESG goals.
"To effectively equip a real estate portfolio, we use our standardised processes to create installation concepts for the respective properties in the shortest possible time. ‘These concepts give the owner and property management detailed insights into the timeline, the number of charging stations and the associated costs,’ explains Dominik Wegmayer, Co-CEO and co-founder of PAYUCA. ‘This approach has already been successfully implemented at ÖVW, where it has proven to be efficient and time-saving,’ Wegmayer continues.
Studies show that 78% of long-term parkers want a charging option at their own parking space and make the purchase of an electric car dependent on the availability of charging infrastructure.
The Austrian Volkswohnungswerk is setting a good example: ‘We are convinced that flats with garage spaces without e-charging infrastructure are neither contemporary nor in line with the market, and that the decision for or against a flat will also depend on the availability of e-charging infrastructure in the future,’ says Gerald Ebner of ÖVW with certainty.
The ÖVW's charging rollout shows that housing companies should quickly address the issue of e-charging infrastructure, as more and more tenants are using electric vehicles and demanding a wallbox at their parking space.
‘As ÖVW, our goal is to provide affordable housing, but at the same time to meet the needs of residents and provide them with infrastructure that is in line with the spirit of the times, and that includes creating the possibility of charging electric cars at home,’ explains Gerald Ebner.
