Traditional Upper Austrian company Guschlbauer bakes with solar power

At the end of October, the Upper Austrian cream roll king Guschlbauer commissioned a photovoltaic system at its St. Willibald site. At around 500 kWp, the system will generate around 505,000 kWh of electricity annually from renewable energy. This corresponds to the annual electricity requirements of around 100 Austrian households. Austria’s leading energy company VERBUND has built and started up the PV system.

"The photovoltaic system has been adapted to our electricity consumption profile and ensures that nearly 100% of the electricity generated goes directly into our production. This has a positive impact on our carbon footprint. In addition, we will benefit in the long term from cheaper electricity prices than grid purchases and from the solar power that we generate on our rooftops for many years after the end of the contract.
