In this video series, we explore the transition to clean energy in an action-packed way. From a first-person perspective, we experience the journey as if we were in a computer game — right in the middle of the action. The four episodes — or levels — take you through different VERBUND areas: from sustainable and innovative workplaces to wind and hydropower to solar power.

Level 1: New Work

What does a workplace designed for a sustainable future look like? This level focuses on the VERBUND headquarters in Vienna. There, sustainability, technology and collaboration work seamlessly together. From energy-efficient building services and flexible room concepts to environmentally friendly, locally sourced building materials, our headquarters show how work environments can be reimagined.

It’s about much more than offices.

The focus is on spaces that connect people, conserve resources and enable forward-looking ways of working.

Level 2: Wind power

Next stop: the Petronell-Carnuntum wind farm in Lower Austria. From the rotor blades and nacelle to the control systems, we get a close-up look at wind power—not only from the ground, but at a height of 135 metres.

How are modern wind farms developed? How are they operated? And how do they contribute to the energy supply of the future? With new projects in Austria and Europe, wind power at VERBUND continues to grow.

Wind power at VERBUND

Level 3: Hydropower

Hydropower has been the bedrock of renewable electricity generation for decades. But proven technologies are also reaching new levels.

This episode takes us to the Wallsee-Mitterkirchen run-of-river power plant and shows how existing power plants are modernised and made more efficient by the use of targeted measures. The expansion of renewable energy therefore does not always require new construction, but can also be achieved through the smart optimisation of existing potential.

Level 4: Solar power

Everything revolves around the power of the sun. The photovoltaic installation is also located in Wallsee-Mitterkirchen and illustrates how clean energy is produced from sunlight.

At the same time, new solar projects in Austria and Europe are gaining momentum and showing how the expansion of renewable energy is progressing step by step. Solar power strengthens regions, creates new opportunities, and makes an important contribution to the energy future.
