Sustainability report 2003: 1st prize at AERA award ceremony
VERBUND, Austria's leading electricity company, was awarded 1st place for the best sustainability report in this year's AERA prize (Austrian Environmental Reporting Award) from the Chamber of Economic Trustees. Haider, chairman of VERBUND's board of directors, accepted the award on Thursday evening. The 2nd and 3rd places went to Österreichische Bundesforste AG and VA Technologie AG.
A total of 30 reports were evaluated. One of the reasons for VERBUND to be awarded 1st place was because its sustainability report was the only one to fulfil the prerequisite of testability through an external authority.
