VERBUND is the new main sponsor of the Austrian Rowing Federation

The Austrian Rowing Federation (ÖRV) has started the season with VERBUND, Austria’s leading provider of sustainable energy, as its new main sponsor. With the slogan “By our own power”, this collaboration is reinforced not only on a sporting level but also through shared values and sustainability standards.

VERBUND became the main sponsor of the Austrian Rowing Federation (ÖRV) in spring 2025, in good time for the start of the 2025 rowing season. “Rowing is an ideal platform for making the principles of ‘by our own power’ and ‘in harmony with nature’ a reality in harmony with each other. ÖRV’s athletes have trained on VERBUND’s reservoirs for many years. We’re pleased to be able to further strengthen our existing ties!” says Michael Strugl, Chairman of VERBUND’s Executive Board. “As the main sponsor of the ÖRV, we’re able to highlight our commitment to health, diversity and sustainability. This sponsorship fits perfectly into our sponsoring activities. The partnership between the ÖRV and VERBUND sends out a clear signal: sustainability and sporting excellence can go hand in hand.”

VERBUND will be presented as the main sponsor at all ÖRV events during the sponsorship period from 2025 to 2027. Sponsorship includes the display of the logo on all ÖRV equipment, boat materials, printed documents and the website. VERBUND also has opportunities to hold team-building events or events for employees, customers and guests together with the ÖRV and to go rowing together with ÖRV athletes for a day.

The ÖRV rowers have already made an extremely successful start to the international sporting season. On 24th and 25th May, the juniors celebrated historic wins with five medals at the Junior European Championships in Kruszwica, Poland. Starting tomorrow, Thursday, the elite will fight for top rankings at the European Championship in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. In addition to the shallow water regattas, the attractive coastal competitions supplement the schedule with a steadily increasing level of performance. The world championship of the Coastal Beach Sprint – a new Olympic discipline – will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on 23th–26th October. The World Rowing Championships will be held in Shanghai, China, on 21st–28th September.
