Grossraming Run-of-River Power Plant

VERBUND’s Grossraming power plant is a run-of-river power plant on the Enns, situated in the municipality of Reichraming in Upper Austria.

Technical Description

The Grossraming power plant was built from 1945 to 1951 and was completed in several stages. Until the year 2000, the power plants of Schönau, Weyer and Losenstein were also controlled from Grossraming - now this takes place from the control centre in Steyr. From 2001 to 2003, both the power plant's machine units were completely renewed. Two vertical Kaplan turbines with a DC three-phase synchronous generator generate an average yearly output of around 270 GWh.
