Adventure and action on the Schlegeis dam
Surrounded by the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, the Schlegeis reservoir is a popular destination for fans of nature and the great outdoors. The Schlegeis dam offers even more experiences – with dam wall tours, flying fox, giant swing and climbing.
A special opportunity to experience the successful combination of nature and technology is the action and adventure offering at the Schlegeis reservoir. Right on the 131 metre-high dam is a via ferrata suited for beginners and experienced climbers alike, thanks to its easy degree of difficulty. Unique views are guaranteed! A 600 metre-long flying fox, the 30-metre free fall with the giant swing and challenging climbing routes provide plenty of adrenalin and tingling nerves.
Visitors with an interest in technology have the possibility to view the interior of the Schlegeis dam on a guided tour! A rare look behind the scenes of electricity generation.

The dream of flying comes true with the flying fox! Float for 600 metres along the Schlegeis dam at up to 80 km/h. If you’re feeling brave, you really mustn’t miss out on this experience!

Via ferrata on the dam
A unique via ferrata right on the dam, with a rope length of 200 metres and a difficulty level of A/B (including a C variant). It begins at the foot of the dam and ends at a height of 131 metres, and is suitable for both beginners and advanced climbers.
Use of the facility is free of charge and at your own risk. Equipment can be rented at the snack bar "s'Raschtl".
Sport climbing route "THE WALL"
The sport climbing route "The Wall" is a challenge for any sport climber. The climbing route begins with a difficulty level of 5 and increases as it goes on, especially with the overhanging arch of the dam, to 7+. Since it is a multiple rope route (4 rope lengths) and is in places very exposed, the climbing route is only suitable for experienced climbers.

Children’s climbing on the Schlegeis
Use of the children’s climbing facilities is free of charge, permitted only when accompanied by an adult and is at your own risk.
A dam tour takes you inside the 725 m long and 131 m high Schlegeis dam. The one-hour tour in the Schlegeis dam takes place on the full hour, every day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from May to October. Duration: about one hour.
The meeting point for the guided tour is right by the entrance to the dam. You can get tickets and further information in advance at the barrier keeper's house opposite the s'Raschtl snack bar. Please note that the guided tour into the dam does not have disabled access. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
