Reisseck Daily Storage Power Plant

VERBUND's power plant at Reisseck is a storage power plant situated in the municipality of Kolbnitz in Carinthia. It was constructed from 1947 until 1953.

On the south side of the Reißeck Massif, the Riekenbach, Zwenbergbach and Mühldorferbach are tapped as the main feeders and fed into the Reißeck daily storage facility. These waters are used by two Pelton turbines with an output of 23,200 kW in the Kolbnitz power station.

The Reißeck daily storage facility comprises the powerhouse in Kolbnitz and the Gondelwiese daily storage facility with a capacity of around 41,000 m³. The Hattelberg pumping station makes it possible to pump the water from the daily storage facility up to the annual storage facility on the Reißeck plateau.
