Gstatterboden Run-of-River Power Plant

VERBUND's power plant of Gstatterboden is a run-of-river plant situated on the river Enns and located in the municipality of Wenig im Gesäuse in Styria.

The Gstatterboden power plant was built between 1953 and 1955 and is located on the Gstatterboden weir system of the Hieflau power plant. The Wag reservoir was added between 1960 and 1963. A second headrace tunnel was added to the power plant in 2010. The power plant generates 6.9 GWh of electricity from 100% hydropower and supplies the surrounding homes with environmentally friendly energy.
