Kreuzeck Storage Power Plant

VERBUND's power power plant of Kreuzeck is a storage power plant situated in the municipality of Kolbnitz in Carinthia. It was constructed from 1955 until 1958.

Technical Description 

The Reisseck-Kreuzeck power plant group is made up of one annual storage plant, two daily storage plants and a few small power plants as well as the new Reisseck II pumped storage power plant.

The Kreuzeck daily storage plant utilizes the outflows of some of the streams in the easterly area of the Kreuzeck group, which are gathered through an extensive tunnel system and fed into the Rosswiese daily storage reservoir. The Teuchlbach, Gnoppnitzbach, Grabach and Niklaibach (streams) as well as the neighbouring streams are all utilized.
