Pöls Run-of-River Power Plant

VERBUND's power plant at Pöls is a run-of-river plant situated on the river Pöls (Mur area) and in them municipality of Pöls in Styria.

Technical Description 

The run-of-river power plant Pöls was constructed from 1903 to 1904. In 1976/77, the Pöls power plant underwent a general renovation: The buildings were renovated, the generators' belt drive was removed and the pressure pipeline was refitted. Three horizontal Francis turbines with DC coupled three-phase AC current synchronising generators generate around 9 GWh of electricity annually.
