Wallnerau Salzach Stage Run-of-River Power Plant

VERBUND's power plant at Wallnerau, Salzach stage, is a run-of-river power plant situated on the Salzach river southeast of Schwarzach in Salzburg.

The Wallnerau-Salzach run-of-river power plant was built between 1987 and 1990. The two machine sets of the power plant generate around 41 GWh of electricity. Since 2015, a fish ladder has guaranteed the power plant’s flow continuity, so that aquatic life in the Salzach can migrate from tailwater to headwater.
