The Mühldorf power plant was built between 1922 and 1924. Each of these two machine sets consists of a Francis turbine and a three-phase synchronous generator, which generate an annual average of around 2 GWh of electricity.

The run-of-river power plant at Mühldorf is not equipped with a fish bypass as this would not deliver any ecological added value.
During the construction of the pumped storage power plant Reißeck II, a new themed path “Hydropower-Nature-Fishery” was built in 2014. The three kilometre-long path stretches from Mühldorf to the western end of the Rottau compensation basin. Information boards provide information on the ecology and clean electricity generation at the site.

Turbines and generators: The power plant is equipped with two machine sets, each of which comprises a Francis turbine and a three-phase generator. In total, the power plant has an output of 0.6 MW and generates nearly 2 GWh of electricity a year on average.
