In order to actively promote equal opportunity, VERBUND is committed to specifically supporting highly qualified women. Our goal is to gain a greater number of qualified women, particularly technicians, as employees for our company.

The VERBUND Women's Network

In the VERBUND women's network, we take a strategic, sustainable approach to the topic of promoting women, discuss new developments and decide on possible support measures.

The VERBUND Women's Stipend

With the VERBUND Women's Stipend, we support highly qualified women in technical professions. Starting in 2009, we have been granting this stipend yearly in cooperation with the Career Center of the Technical University in Vienna.

Vienna Daughters' Day

The Daughters' Day is an initiative of the City of Vienna. Here at VERBUND, we take part in the annual "Vienna Daughters' Day" in order to reach out to female pupils at a young age and to capture their interest in fascinating technical professions.

FIT

With FIT – Women (Frauen) in Technology – we motivate female high school graduates to study technical subjects. Successful women in technical professions are introduced as "role models", reservations about technical or scientific training courses are allayed.

With attractive social benefits and wages

In most of VERBUND's subsidiaries, the collective agreement for electricity companies is applicable. Here, essential provisions for this branch are recorded: Minimum wages, working hours, travel costs, allowances, bonuses, etc.

VERBUND offers a range of social benefits, both voluntary and such as the collective agreement stipulates, which are available to all employees:

  • a pension fund
  • supplementary health insurance
  • discounted lunches
  • child benefits and
  • a general health check-up

Equality

Equal treatment of all employees is a matter of course for us. Every employee receives market-conform and performance-oriented pay. The voluntary social benefits which we offer can be used equally by both full- and part-time employees.

Income report

For equal performance we pay an equal income. Every two years we compile an internal income report. The results of this income report show that for wages and salaries there is no direct discrimination between female and male employees. We achieve this by rating all employees in strict accordance with the collective agreement and paying by our performance-oriented remuneration model according to activity and performance.
