The Salzach River

With 225 km length from its source in the Kitzbueheler Alps to its confluence with the Inn near Haiming, the Salzach is the Inn's longest tributary and has the greatest volume of water.

Gries: the youngest power plant on the Salzach

In 2019, VERBUND and Salzburg AG opened the youngest power plant on the Salzach. Gries can supply 10,000 households with electricity from hydropower every year. Fish pass und river restoration measures are now a matter of course.
