Fun and games at the VERBUND Children's Festival
On Sunday 9 August 2020, starting at 10 a.m.
A traditional date for family fun at the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs. Face painting for kids, crafts corner, climbing for children, can knockdown, play corner and much more. Also child-appropriate learning activities on the topics of nature, technology, hydropower and electricity generation.
On this day there is free admission for children (up to 15 years), adults and children 16 years and older pay the normal admission

A look behind the scenes of electricity generation

The tours take place daily, starting every 45 minutes from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., and last about one hour.

Dam tour for children
Fact-finding tour at the Mooserboden: The play-and-learn stations along the electricity trail show how electricity is generated from hydropower, what a dam is made of and which animals live in the mountain world surrounding the dams. The tour concludes with a walk through the dam's "Kronengang" ("crown passageway") to the other side of the Moosersperre dam.

Starting in the late afternoon, the crowds have left the Mooserboden. Wildlife dares to show itself again and reclaims the paths and slopes. A unique atmosphere makes itself felt at this popular destination. In an exclusive tour after the visitor attraction's official opening hours have ended, VERBUND makes it possible to garner rare glimpses of the high-Alpine evening world.

Magical Water Night
The route takes you through the Sigmund Thun gorge to the Klammseestüberl snack bar. A romantic campfire atmosphere and storyteller await you there. For refreshment there are baked potatoes before the torch-lit hike back to the entrance of the gorge. No prior reservation is necessary.

Botanical high mountain hike
Drive up to the high mountain reservoirs, tour of the Electricity Adventure World, followed by a botanical high mountain hike (approx. 1 hour) to the Fürthermoaralm.

On tour with the gentle companions
Go walking with alpacas and llamas and receive a llama driver’s licence in return. Afterwards, you can felt your own necklace out of real alpaca wool.

Lofty thrill for young and old
A rope slide, stretching from the Höhenburg to the Moosersperre dam, is inviting you to be brave and try it out. Don't be shy, give it a try. The Flying Fox is suitable for almost all ages (minimum age 3 years).
