Measures for preventing the spread of COVID-19 at our excursion destinations

The rules for managing COVID-19 apply at the VERBUND excursion destinations. In particular, we ask our guests to follow the rules on social distancing and – where required – to wear an FFP2 mask (e.g. inside our shuttle buses and in enclosed rooms). Where possible, we will help you to support the rules – please also help us with this. The situation makes it necessary to adjust procedures, activities and offerings. We are doing our best to create an optimal visitor experience and apologise in advance if some of the offerings are not available in the usual form.

Electricity Adventure World

Immerse yourself in Electricity Adventure World

Between the Mooserboden and the Drossensperre dams, at the Mooserboden reservoir, is "Electricity Adventure World." Here, young and old can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of eternal ice and experience the interplay of glaciers, power plant construction and electricity generation up close.

In the exhibit we take you back to the immediate post-war period of the 1950's. You will get to know the eventful history of the Kaprun power plant project, which reaches from the first ideas in the 1930's to the second World War and on to reconstruction. At the same time you will learn fascinating details about the legendary Kaprun setting and its significance for Austria.

In the second room we highlight the interplay of nature and technology. We touch on the special characteristics of Upper Tauern National Park and share information on one of Europe's largest hydropower electricity producers.

Admission to Electricity Adventure World is included in the admission fee for the Kaprun high mountain reservoirs.
