Thanks to the construction of the Neuötting power plant on the Inn between 1948 and 1951 and the related damming of the Inn, it was necessary to relocate the tailwater return of the Isenwerk in Winhöring towards the east. The extension of the waterbody with side dams created a gradient towards the Inn, whose energy is used by the Aubach power plant. The small power plant can thus supply around 300 households with electricity generated entirely from hydropower.
A vertical Kaplan turbine with a diameter of 30 cm processes 10.5 m³ water/second at 167 revolutions/minute. An output of 422 hp is achieved with a head of 3.5 metres.
