Bischofshofen Run-of-River Power Plant

Bischofshofen joint venture power plant is a run-of-river power plant situated on River Salzach in the municipal area of Bischofshofen in Salzburg.

Technical Description 

Bischofshofen was the first link in the power plant chain on the Salzach river and was erected between 1982 and 1985. The control technology was renewed in 2005. Two horizontal Kaplan turbines generate 70 GWh per year. There is a fish ladder on the left bank and the backwater area has been equipped with a spawning ground and a shallow water zone.
