Laufnitzdorf Run-of-River Power Plant

VERBUND's power plant at Laufnitzdorf is a run-of-river plant situated on the river Mur and in the municipality of Frohnleiten in Styria.

Technical Description 

The Laufnitzdorf run-of-river power plant was built von 1929 to 1931 and since then has been reliably supplying clean electricity from hydropower. The two vertically built-in Kaplan machine units each contain a three-phase synchronous motor. On average each year, around 121 GWh of electricity are generated. The Laufnitzdorf power plant is furthermore equipped with a fish bypass.
