Werfen-Pfarrwerfen Run-of-River Power Plant

The joint venture power plant of Werfen-Pfarrwerfen is a run-of river power plant situated on the river Salzach in the municipal area of Werfen and Pfarrwerfen in Salzburg.

Technical Description 

The Werfen-Pfarrwerfen power plant was built between 2006 and 2009 and along with St. Johann, Urreiting, Bischofshofen and Kreuzbergmaut, is the fifth run-of-river power plant on the middle section of the Salzach. Two Kaplan bulb turbines generate around 77 GWh of electricity a year. Furthermore, the Werfen-Pfarrwerfen power plant is equipped with a fish ladder.
